Types of Arch designs used in homes

If you are designing or renovating your home, it can feel like a very exciting experience. You have the complete freedom of coming up with any design for your home to ensure it matches your style and preferences. If you cannot come up with interesting ideas to add more visual interest to your home interiors, consider opting for arches. Arches have been very commonly used in Indian architecture. They help to add more drama to a space and make your interiors appear stunning. Depending on your preferences, you can create an arch design in your hall with cement, your living room, or your dining space. If you do not have adequate knowledge about arches found in home interiors, here are a few types you can consider:

01 of 07 Archways

In this type of arch, similar arches are created at some regular intervals one after the other. This is a great idea in homes that feature many lobby spaces or a long foyer or entrance. You will be able to add a lot of visual interest and drama to your home interiors and make them appear more appealing. To further complement the look, you can add a few traditional furniture pieces in the setup as well and hang beautiful artwork with a historical appeal. You can either use just one colour for all the arches or choose different ones. This arch design in a hall with cement proves to be very beneficial as it creates the illusion of a larger space.

02 of 07 Create arched corridors

You can create arches on walls that connect one room to the other. Since many people cannot design the connecting walls properly, they often appear dull and boring. As a result, the appeal of the entire area gets diminished. Introducing arches will help to add more visual interest to the space. If the connecting wall opens into open spaces or multiple areas, an arched corridor looks very interesting. If you have these corridors at regular intervals, they can appear like archways as well.

03 of 07 Shallow archways

These arches are called shallow archways owing to their shapes. The shape appears shallow because its size is double the size of a typical round roman arch. Experts mainly suggest opting for these arches to separate two adjacent areas that are open and large. Depending on your preferences, you can use it in both modern and traditional spaces because of its ancient yet contemporary look. These arch designs are mainly incorporated in walls that separate the dining and living room, living room and courtyard, etc.

04 of 07 Window frame arches

You must have commonly noticed arches on doors. Similarly, you can opt for arches for your window frame instead of a regular rectangular box window. This will certainly make your window design appear more stunning. However, opting for a window frame arch not only impacts the interior design but also the exterior look of the house as well. Hence, window frame arches enhance the kerb appeal of the house as well.

05 of 07 French doors and arches

If you feel that sufficient space is not available in your beautiful home design for you to create a statement arch design, you can consider opting for this option. All you have to do is incorporate a simple roman arch in a door frame and the look of your door will change instantly. Most commonly experts prefer a French door as the glazed frame in the door design does into an archway. Although the combination has a very simple look, it appears very stylish and elegant. You can surely use this arch design to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your beautiful home design

06 of 07 Choose an arch created with brickwork

If you are one of those people who love the look of exposed brickwork, you can certainly consider this arch design. Whether you are using it in your home interiors or facade, it will certainly enhance its appeal. Exposed brickwork has a very bold look and will certainly make your home appear stunning. Compared to places that receive a warm temperature, this arch design looks better in places that receive a colder climate. If there is a fireplace in your house, you should definitely consider decorating it with an arch created with brickwork. This arch design in a hall with cement will look good as well. Another idea includes incorporating it into the wall separating the foyer entry and living room

07 of 07 Moulded arch

If you do not want to opt for the classy arch look, consider opting for moulded arches so that you can make your own designs. Depending on your preferences, you can choose any design. As a result, it allows you to choose options that match your style and personality.
