There can be days where you miss the gymnasium. There can be many reasons for that. You might be working late, your gym is far away, or you have a party to attend. People often believe that exercising at home is entirely different from exercising at the gymnasium. But that is not true at all. You can work out at home effortlessly. What if you can exercise at home with a workout towel? Wouldn’t that be great? Whether you exercise at home or in a gymnasium, an essential part of the fitness routine is burning calories. Moreover, working out with a towel can give you the same benefits as working out at a gymnasium.
So, let’s find out the few exercises, which require a workout towel. Here they are:
- Arms – Extended Horizontal Pulse: For this simple exercise, you need to grab the ends of the towel. Hold it in such a manner that it should be shoulder-width apart. You can start by relaxing your shoulders back and down but see that your shoulders are away from the ears. Bend your elbows slightly without locking them. You can pulse slightly up and down for 60 seconds with arms extended and repeat three times.
- Glute Bridge Hold with Skull Crusher: First, you can lie on the floor by bending your knees with your feet flat. Lift your hips higher in a bridge position after holding the towel with a narrow bridge. Next, you should turn your elbows and lower your towel towards the back of the head. Finally, repeat the exercise immediately.
- Legs – Plie Squat: Hold your workout towel at both ends horizontally with arms extended. Next, you will need to place your legs wide enough then your shoulders and your toes should be angled outward. You must bend your knees and squat down. When you squat down, make a 90-degree angle. Extend your towel in the front, then pulse your arms and body up and down. If you want to move to an advanced level, you can easily do that by challenging your calves. For that, you need to lift your heels and make sure you place your weight on the balls of your feet while you pulse for 30 seconds. You can repeat this exercise three times.
- Back-Towel Row: There are two ways of doing this exercise. In this exercise, you can use a pole or a bedpost and a door. So, let’s look at both movements.
- Bedpost or a pole: Firstly, wrap the towel around your bedpost or pole. Then, grab the towel with both your hands. You should place your feet shoulder-width apart by utilising the towel and lean slightly backward after dropping a squat. Then, you must start to pull back with your arms and squeeze your shoulder blades together.
- Door: In this exercise, you should wrap your towel on all sides of the doorknob inside the room. Since closing the door allows you to lock the towel in its place, you should close the door as the towel threads through the crack in the door. Hold both the ends of the towel. Then, you must place your feet shoulder-width apart, drop a squat, and lean slightly backward by utilising the towel. You can activate and strengthen your back muscles by pulling back with your arms and squeezing your shoulder blades together. You can repeat this workout three times.
- Bulgarian Split Squat with Biceps Curl: First, you must stand in front of a chair with an elevated back foot. Keep your arms extended; grab the towel with a wide underhand grip. Curl your towel up and towards you by bending your knees and lowering your hips. Repeat this three times.
Staying at home is never a worry anymore. At this point, your workout towel is sure to come in handy with all these exercises. So, stay healthy, stay fit and exercise every little bit.
