Aphra Behn, British Playwright, poet and fiction writer, was known to be an inspirational writer in her times. She was a part of the Restoration era, which was quite popular for the writers and inspirational people. She broke all cultural barriers in her writing, and spoke in favor of women through her writings. She was truly the literary model of the era for the women.
She was employed as a spy in Antwerp by Charles II. She stayed in the debtors prison for a brief period of time, post which she began writing for the stage. She was a part of the poets and famous libertines of the period, She has experienced a lot of legal troubles in her time, for what she had written. During the turbulent period of Exclusion Crisis, she was in trouble for her epilogue and prologue write-ups.
Behn had a catholic upbringing, which has been reflected in her write-ups as well many times.During the anti catholic fervor, her catholic following brought home a lot of trouble.

The whole plot revolves around her adventure during her journey to meet her cousin. The story reveals her stay at a inn where a stage coach was set up, and also talks of her meeting a lady Madam Brightly. The whole plot revives the pain and emotions experienced by the protagonist Bellamora, in her life, and through this journey, and carries a lot of emotions.
