HTC Nexus 9 frames are much smaller than previous models of Google Nexus tablet, what comes to correcting something that had always been a handicap at the devices of Mountain View. The fact is that this is a tablet with a screen of very good quality but it has flaws and, in addition, the IPS panel that integrates fails, even remotely, to any of its rivals, such as the Super AMOLED of new Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
If we talk about the HTC Nexus 9 display configuration and performance, there are very interesting and positive developments and some not so. The first is that it is a shame that all is not used experience HTC to use more metal housing tablet (although we must say that the price must have increased). The fact is that this material is used only in the lateral edge, the rear is plastic, so it is true that brings a higher quality finish. In story to the hardware switch and volume control buttons are very firm and also metal, but not extra-long and sometimes are confused because they are very similar.
The rectangular shape of the Nexus 9 is comfortable when handling the device, despite its dimensions are nothing excessive when compared with the iPad, but what is already very top is the weight of no less than 425 grams frankly, is that when the tablet is used with one hand it is comfortable and another plus point is the thickness of just 7.9 mm.
Note that the speakers are in front (they are above and below the panel) and two, but their quality is questionable when compared with BoomSound of HTC, which has since participated in the assembly could have been used. The fact is that no evil and sound is correct, but its power and definition makes it the best value in the market, much less. There is one detail that should be known and that is not exactly positive: in the back there is too much space, even millimeters, between the plastic housing and other components. So much so that if it is tightened sinks and is obviously a sign of weakness that affects the perception of Nexus 9. What did we liked a lot is the finish in what concerns the integration between the front display and the back cover, which should be mentioned.
As usual in the Nexus models, the logo is on the back of which, incidentally, also much noticeable traces are left with fingers (the HTC brand occupies very little space). The rear camera is in the upper left corner, which means that if you’re not careful you can cover when taking photos. May be this would not be done in the upcoming mid-range Nexus tablet that are rival to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 5.
