Export Compliance Training: Make Your Trade Legal

Having proper knowledge of export rules and regulations is very important in these days. Some of the exporters ignore the importance of export rules and regulations and various compliance programs. Illegal export is responsible for various problems that can arise in the later times. Even failing to comply with export rules and ITAR in the case of exporting defense items is very dangerous. This gives rise to bad reputation of the company and has to pay huge amount of administrative fines.

Thus, exporters who are contracting defense items, technical data and arms overseas should have good knowledge and training. Extensive understanding and training are critical elements of any of the export compliance programs that come under ITAR compliance and also EAR that is Export Administration Regulations. Proper training ensures that all the employees that are working in your company have good knowledge in export rules and they will maintain the same in the entire process. This will help in making the export business legal and complaint. All the employees who are working in the company including the CEO should attend the webinars and seminars.



TYPES OF TRAINING AND FREQUENCY:
The training that is given to the employees is customized according to the requirements of the business. It is obvious that all the employees should require training throughout the year. The training of the employee depends on the involvement in the business process and also with the export regulations. The frequency and depth of topics cover the training mainly correlate with the job function of the employees. There are some of the organizations that offer web-based solutions and even training to the exporters and defense contractors. Some of the recommendations that are adopted by the business sectors are classified under the following points.

1.       New Employee Orientation:
It is the training that makes the participation of all the new employees and provide a brief overview about the business functionaries of the company and how they are dealing with export policies and procedures. This is the best way to make the new employees get introduced with the existing employees. Even the new ones are trained with responsibilities.

2.    Extensive Annual Training:
This type of training is customized in each of the departments depending upon the requirements so that they can better understand the export policies and procedures. This will affect their responsibilities as well. This training also review all sort of amendments that are made in the internal policies and export procedures.

3.    Awareness Training:
This type of training is important to provide an awareness regarding the export rules and regulations. This training is for the employees who are part of accounting and work on the floors. Even the others who interact with export procedures require this training.
